A good app for quick reference, if you know the categories. The information is good, but the distribution information is weaker than I expected it to be. I have one major problem with the app: The scientific names, located beneath the common name, are almost completely covered by the image plates, which means that they are unreadable.

I love this app. It's very easy to use and has saved me from lugging a paper edition around for years. The calls and songs are invaluable. Suggestions: 1. remove unnecessary words in common names such as "European" Robin as they're superfluous in a European birds app. 2. Include a beginner mode switch in settings. New birders shouldn't be trawling through Thrush Nightingales and Scrub Robins to find a common bird.

Pay again already?! Bought for £7.99, and the first thing I see upon opening is a banner saying "third edition now available, pay £7.99 to unlock thirty new birds and updated information". Haven't actually used the app yet, but it's not cheap and at £7.99 I'd expect to get the most recent version on download. Being asked to pay the same again to unlock a little extra content feels icky.
