About this app

The Epic Privacy Browser, the first-ever Chromium-based browser engineered to protect your privacy online, is now available on Android.

Epic is proudly developed in Bangalore, 🇮🇳India and built for speed, convenience and data privacy.

The Epic desktop browsers have been rated excellent by PC Magazine, awarded 5 out of 5 stars (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) by CNET, and reviewed favorably in dozens of publications. Epic for Windows and Mac are used by millions of users around the world. Epic for Android is free with no in-app purchases.

Epic for Android includes many features:

★ Built on Chromium for Speed & Security.

★ File Vault. Encrypt any files you download or store on your Android device to protect your privacy.

★ AdBlocker. Install it for free via the Epic Extensions store. Epic was the first browser to block cryptomining scripts and now offers that protection to Android users. Epic's AdBlocker blocks ads, trackers, cryptomining scripts, popups and more.

★ Strict No-Logging Encrypted Proxy (VPN for the browser). Install our Encrypted Proxy/VPN for free via the Epic Extensions store. Our Encrypted Proxy is essentially a free, unlimited VPN for the browser powered by hundreds of servers in eight countries including the United States🇺🇸, Canada🇨🇦, the United Kingdom🇬🇧, France🇫🇷, Germany🇩🇪, the Netherlands🇳🇱, Singapore🇸🇬 and India🇮🇳.

★ Audio Queue. On the road? Going for a run? Add webpages to Epic's audio queue and Epic will read the articles to you. Epic is the first-ever web browser to use Android's text-to-speech support for this accessibility feature.

★ Fingerprinting Protection. Epic blocks multiple fingerprinting techniques used by data collectors.

★ Encrypted Connection Preference. Epic tries to connect to websites using an encrypted connection whenever possible.

★ Always-On Private / Incognito Browsing. No browsing history.

★ Easy Menu-based "Close All Tabs & Delete Data" Option.

★ Granular, Site-Based Privacy Settings Controls. If a site isn't working, you can disable ad & tracker blocking (if you've installed adblocker) as well as other privacy protections. If a site is slow or questionable, you can disable scripts for a site (note this is an advanced setting that may suppress some or all site functionality depending on the website).

★ Tracker Count. See how many trackers are blocked in your browsing sessions when AdBlocker is installed (typically thousands!).

★ Bookmark Support.

★ Password Saving Support. Optional for sites of your choice.

★ Reader Mode Button. Convert pages to text-only for easy reading.

★ Built-in Video Downloader. Download videos from many websites (YouTube is not supported due to Google policies).

★ Customized Dials on the New Tab Page. Set each dial on Epic's new tab page to one of your choice. No browsing history to report on your "most visited sites".

Try Epic. We think you'll love the faster, more private and convenient "Epic" browsing experience.

We're proud to bring the same protections we've been providing for five years on PCs and Macs to Android users.

On the plus side, it's a smaller download than Edge, Brave, Vivaldi, etc. so it should be lighter on system resources. Helpful features like auto fill. On the negative, the selection of search engines is limited, only Yahoo and Epic's proprietary search. Worse, ad block turns itself off for no apparent reason and doesn't work well even when it's turned on. The latest update, installed 12/12/22, is worse than ever and I'm ready to give up.

Awesome browser and runs very well. I'm happy about the clear tabs and data option so I don't have to go into my setting to clear my cache as often. The youtube in the background feature is very nice to have once you figure it out, but I still haven't figured out the 'Audio Queue' feature and can't find any info on it. The reason why I put 4 stars is because it can definitely still be improved, I think a 'help' option to describe all features in the browser might make me bump it to 5 stars.

Hi Charles, thank you for the feedback. Great idea that we need to have an introduction to Epic - thanks!! We made a video :-). You can add webpages to the Audio Queue via the Settings menu, then open the Audio Queue to audio-play the articles. Here's the video introduction on using Epic for Android: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uQBnL6EbyE

Love the anonymity of this browser. I really feel comfortable that I'm not being followed, tracked and judged. I'd give a 5th star, but I had problems with downloaded content being encrypted and not finding a way to set up a password to decrypt those items. I probably missed something, so I don't blame Epic entirely.

What's new

Unfortunately, we are discontinuing the VPN service as it's gotten too expensive and time-consuming to operate, so it's removed from this update which enables us to focus on browser development. There are many free VPN apps in the Play Store you can use in place of this. There are multiple other fixes as well.
