About this app

Flip is a sample-based mobile music studio that was designed for a fast and intuitive work flow. Import your own sounds, or record sounds directly with your device's microphone. As soon as you record a sound it’s available to be played on drum pads as well as being mapped across a keyboard. Sounds can be subtly shaped or entirely transformed using the built-in effects and easy-to-use editing tools.

You can record a quantized or unquantized performance on the pads or keyboard. There is also a full piano roll where you can enter and edit notes and velocities.

Record knob movements or draw automation by hand to bring even more life to your sounds. Every automation lane can also have its own independent length, for polymetric and generative music possibilities.

Create up to 16 different sections for your song and drag and drop them into any order to create your arrangement.

Mixing and mastering tools allow you to finish a full track without ever leaving your phone. You can export your full track, or hit the tape icon and record the live output of the app while you tweak anything on the fly. Both options allow you to capture individual track stems as well!

A performance page lets you trigger your patterns live while controlling a global filter, assignable pitch bends and reverb sends, and a random fill generator.

**********************************

Flip can play up to 144 samples at a time, so it's a very CPU-intensive app. We recommend new devices and Android 10 or higher to really have fun with the app.

Love for the creator, but this app makes it nearly impossible to continue working on projects. It's happened to me more often then not when I am working on a project, that when I come back to it. Sounds just will not play. Sometimes the metronome won't sound anymore, maybe only some sounds will play at a time. The app gets 3 stars for atleast being a good musical pass time.

Great sampler and beat maker, but still very buggy. For me, maximizer causes complete audio dropout when using bluetooth headphone connection, screen recording will cause audio engine to stop working, and any changes to audio device (headphones connect/disconnect) also causes audio engine dropout. Sometimes FX don't work as well, seemingly at random. Bugs aside it's still a ton of fun and I look forward to fixes. Would love a resampling feature!

You can test an update with working headphones support via --> https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.flipsampler.flip Also try to increase Audio Buffer in Options screen, to gibe the audio engine a bit more headroom

I love using this app. Beat-making is fun and easy with it, sampling and using effects are streamlined and quite inspired, I only wish it was more stable. I used it for a good couple of hours today but I can't even open the app anymore, it just crashes on startup. I'm afraid to try reinstalling because I don't wanna lose my projects. Love using it, just needs some work done. Edit: Another issue that I and others have come across is sound glitching coming from the chorus after closing a project.
