I understand the need to have ads to pay the bills, but an ad every 1-3 times you click on messages is overly intrusive and ruins the app ecperience. Other than this, Hornet is pretty good. Impressed by how it's trying to grow from just a hookup app into what could become one of the first legit gay social networks. Excited to see where that leads. Just, please, tone it down with the nonstop animated ads. There's just too many.

Really though??? What's the point of having advertised this app or having it featured for download if you can't actually use it for it's purpose? There's absolutely no way to get past the point of verifying validity as after you've put in plenty of work detailing your profile, it will prompt you to verify yourself via SMS verification code, only the code will never arrive, hence you will never be able to use this the way it's advertised. The Play store needs to flag this app bigtime.

I am one of over 20,000 loyal daters who chose Hornet to help find a decent guy to only sadly be disappointed and rate the app a 2 star or less. The app is flashy and full of ads, fake profiles, and definitely needs some work put in to clean up the fake profiles. Every day another fake profile sends me a message, with a "normal sounding" first and last name, and when you check the message, it's just some scam that redirects you to a different website.
