I wanted to like this, but when you set it up it defaults to asking for phone number without any corresponding email, then threw a couple of obtuse errors that vanished before I could make note of them (and forbids a screenshot, wow). So, I tried to instead set up via the webpage with email address but my first attempt made a dead account that can't authenticcate, and you can't reset the password since no email is affiliated with it. Now my username is in limbo. Bravo.

Linphone works smoothly for calls, but the biggest issue is that it doesn’t natively import contacts. When someone calls, it only shows the phone number, making it impossible to tell if it’s someone I know. This is a major inconvenience for daily use. If it had proper contact syncing, it would be a much better VoIP app. Until then, it’s frustrating to rely on manual lookups.

Hi Daniel,
6.0.2 has been published, it should fix your issue.

Works very well for phone calls. Sadly, with text messages it's a different story. For example, I will get a notification after receiving a SMS from contact A, but the message won't show up in the app after I open it the first time. Sent SMS to contact A will always show up in the app fine, but without any incoming ones. If contact A writes again, I will be able to see the incoming messages new and old, but without the sent ones and again only temporarily. I never have the complete conversation.
