IMPORTANT: Zoiper softphone is a standalone client-side software VOIP phone application and is not bundled together with a VoIP service. To make and receive VoIP calls using Zoiper, you must subscribe to any SIP or IAX based service provider across the globe.

- Phones that are unstable because they have broken audio implementations:
Alcatel one touch series (poor audio drivers cause system freezes and crashes)
HTC one m8 (causes freezes.)

WARNING: Please use only versions from the Google Play Store, we have reasons to believe some of the (russian) .apk files floating on the web contain a trojan that might steal username and password and make fraudulent calls. The official Zoiper from Google Play is safe to use.

Ratings and reviews

Works as a proof of concept, but lots of important features are missing. For example: If I have my Bluetooth Headset on, it still uses the phone's integrated speaker. There's also an issue regarding local calls on FritzBoxes, where sometimes a call won't go through to a local number. This is not an issue with other VOIP Clients, like Twinkle, which just works. Also, the User Interface for setting up a new connection is sometimes unintuitive for new users (Difference TCP/UDP should be explained)

A good app, but the nagging screens are nasty. Got to check double what you tap on. Edit: I believe it happened after a system reboot, that the app would start with a full screen mesaage explaining premium features, which took me a moment to figure out whether I had to press Yes or No to skip the message. I hope this will not show up regularly. Edit2: the nagging screens come with every restart. Two screens to carefully click through to not sign up for something. I uninstalled.

App is better than before. The allowing-it-to-sleep option was a showstopper. Disallow it, et voila more reliable. Service online was helpful, made me solve the issue of loosing features by having more than one google account. Battery drain is not dramatic, but noticeable. Nice app though. After updates, the app does not see the subscription, and you get an offer to upgrade. Post updates Cold reboot required.
