About this app

MEGA provides user-controlled encrypted cloud storage that’s accessed with web browsers and dedicated apps for mobile devices. Unlike other cloud storage providers, your data is encrypted and decrypted by your client devices only and never by us.

Upload files from your smartphone or tablet, then search, download, stream, view, share, rename or delete them from any device, anywhere. Share folders with your contacts and see their updates in real time.

You can automatically sync your local data with your Cloud drive, ensuring your important files are always safe and accessible across all your devices. With our sync functionality, you can back up any local folder on your device to MEGA effortlessly. Additionally, our backup feature allows you to set up a one-way sync by selecting specific folders to back up seamlessly.

MEGA’s strong and secure end-to-end encryption means we cannot access or reset your password. You MUST remember the password and make sure to back up your account recovery key. Losing your password and the account recovery key will result in lost access to your files.

Subscriptions renew automatically for successive periods of the same duration at the same price as the initial period chosen. To manage your subscriptions, simply tap on the Play Store icon on your device, sign in with your Google ID (if you haven’t already done so), then tap on the MEGA app.

App permissions (optional):
Contacts: MEGA accesses your contacts so you can add them from your device.
Microphone: MEGA accesses your microphone when you capture a video, make a call or record voice messages in the app.
Camera: MEGA accesses your camera when you capture a video or photo, or make a call in the app.
Nearby devices: MEGA accesses nearby devices so you can use Bluetooth devices to join calls in the app.
Notifications: MEGA sends notifications about chat messages, calls, transfer progress, contact requests, or incoming shares from other users.
Media (photos, videos, music and audio): MEGA accesses your media files when you upload, share through chat and when camera uploads is enabled.
Location: MEGA accesses your location when you share it with your contacts in chat.

I subscribed to Mega for a year from 2 TB storage, but it was a rip-off and a waste of money. I hate this app! When I click on anything in the app, most of the time nothing happens, and it's unresponsive. Whenever it does respond, it's extremely slow both to upload and download. None of my folder syncs ever works. I have to use a third-party app, MegaSync, to upload everthing because Mega's own app never works. Worst cloud storage ever. I'm switching over to Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive.

I've been using the paid tier of Mega for the past few years and I'm still very satisfied. There's one thing that would make it perfect though. When I upload a file through the typical Android "Share" feature that you find in many apps, it's a bit of a pain to navigate through my tree structure to find the folder I wanna use. It would be great to have a search bar to do that. And that's true for other parts of the apps, like the "move to" interface. If I know the name of a folder it's easier.

Mega USED to be really good. Even with the whole 5gigs per day limitation, it was still the best. But now it's utter useless garbage. I don't know what they did to it, but now it sits there and acts like it's downloading the files you want, but it will only give you broken partially completed files instead. Game says it's 2 gigs? It tells you it downloaded a 2 gig file, but when you go to the file location it'll only be 400mbs. Time to move on and find an app that actually works.

What’s new

- You can now edit photos. Crop, rotate, and scale, or adjust brightness, contrast, and more.
- It’s now possible to set sync preferences based on your connection or power source, like Wi-Fi vs mobile data, or charging vs battery.
- The audio player now supports playback position history. If you previously played more than 15 minutes of a file, you’ll be asked whether to resume or start over.
- We’ve fixed bugs and improved performance and reliability.
