As someone who primarily consumes audiobooks, I'm immediately taken aback that I can't customize the audio speed beyond the 0.25 presets (eg. 0.75x, 1.0x, 1.25x, etc). I'm someone who vacillates between 1.0-1.25, usually 1.10 and 1.15, so 1.25 is a little too fast on average. Since audiobooks are becoming increasingly more popular, there is a distinct advantage to catering to a more nuanced experience for reviewers. I'd love to see this updated for more audio speed control, please!

The app is a great idea, the execution is not. Audiobooks just don't download. There is no option to change text size so reading PDFs can be a real chore. One book I read that was in an ebook sort of format, the end of the sentences went off the page. Now all the books on my shelf have disappeared from the app even though on my account they are still there. Edit: updated to three stars due to speedy support response and problem is resolved

We're so sorry for the inconvenience - we had an unexpected problem that prevented books from appearing correctly in the app, unrelated to the update. We immediately fixed the issue, so if you restart your NetGalley Shelf app, you should see all of your currently active books. If you have continued issues, please contact us: https://bit.ly/3bnBUeY

This is painful It was bad enough when it was jumping chapters. Now it simply won't work at all. The app is so basic. Doesn't maintain your playback speed of choice. Stops mid sentence for no apparent reason. Chapters aren't differentiated in any way, so you have no clue which chapter you're listening to. Takes forever to download a book and usually more than 1 attempt. Downloaded book seems to use an enormous amount of storage. Hopeless
