Ratings and reviews

Loads of ads plus unreliable... this newer version of viber, full of ads, is just a mess. On top of it, maybe the most unreliable chat/call app that's in use. Constantly showing that I have unread messages, while it is "checking for updates", is probably only to direct you to their ads. Shame. Two stars and not one, because I still have to use it a lot.

Charges pounds for dollars. I tested the $4.99 option. I was charged £4.99 and received $4.99 in credits. The rate card lists calls to the UK as 2 cents per minute. I was charged 15 cents per minute. I'm suspicious of the reviews posted here. The top 2 reviews are 5 stars. Both were posted less than 2 weeks ago. One has over 900 likes one has over 800. Scroll past those and there is a long list of 1 star reviews.

I do not know what has happened with Viber, but it is getting worse and worse every day. unable to make calls, unable to pick up calls. press call for group calls and immediately says call ended. does not ring on the other end. when it rings sometimes you cannot pick it up. About 60% of the time it has calling issues. Location sharing is faulty as well. Put you about 500 m away from your location, only app with does it. Everything else shows correctly. My suggestion is to use another app.
