⚠️ Protecting yourself from scams and fraud

Remote access can be used for scamming and fraudulent activities. Always be careful when asked to share access to your devices, especially if you weren't expecting a connection request. Ensure you never share sensitive information or grant access to someone if you are not completely certain they are who they claim to be.

If you are unsure, contact the organization offering support to confirm the request is genuine.

There are two ways to connect:

• Start a remote session using a secure 9-digit code that the technician provides (this requires a RealVNC Connect subscription with On-Demand Assist).

• Devices that are managed using a mobile device management (MDM) tool can be pre-licensed by the IT Team. A session can be started without a session code, but the mobile device holder still needs to authorize the connection. This requires a RealVNC Connect Enterprise Device Access subscription.

SCAM!!! I tried to cancel something on roku and they tried to get into by bank and tried to charge $700 on my credit card through my Walmart app. DO NOT USE!!! They had total control over my phone for about 5 minutes. I couldn't even power my phone off or delete this app until 6 or 7 minutes later.

This app appears to do nothing. There is no way to connect remotely from a PC VNC viewer, this app has no settings for showing/selecting the port number, setting users or passwords. Trying to connect from their viewer just said failed. PS. I found the real app called 'droindvnc-ng' that actually seems to work and let me connect to my tablet remotely using vnc viewer.

Keep your info and your money secure, people - If someone tells calls or texts you claiming they're from Apple, Amazon, etc, and they tell you to download this app, hang up IMMEDIATELY - It's a scammer. Tech support will confirm your account credentials on their files, and can troubleshoot your account with their own tools. They will never ask for your password, never ask for your personal information, and they will ESPECIALLY never ask you to download a 3rd-party remote desktop app.
