About this app

Reporting a vehicle breakdown via the Start Rescue app is quick and hassle free.
And even if you are unsure of your location, we will use your smart phone’s GPS to locate you.
Once you have completed the simple steps to report a vehicle breakdown, a Recovery Operator will be allocated to you in as little as 20 seconds. You will then receive a notification (via the app, SMS or a telephone call) to tell you who is coming out to you and how long they'll be, with the option in many instances, for you to also access live tracking .

The app is free and available to both Start Rescue members and non-members. If you are not a Start Rescue member, we will provide you with a quotation for our Pay On Use service.

Had to use the app recently for a breakdown. Worked very smoothly, sent my location to the team automatically and I had regular updates and text contacts while waiting. The phone number was available if needed. Local rescue service arrived a bit later than originally stated, but had another text saying how far away they were. The app worked perfectly!

pointless app. it does absolutely naff all. can't see my account all it does is show a phone number. used the service once battery went flat. I was charged £40 call out even tho I already paid the yearly subscription. so people beware .... you get charged the yearly subscription then if if you need them they will sting you a call out charge

Takes lots of details (it doesn't remember you or your car, oddly) and then gives the spinning wheel of doom for ages (despite strong WiFi). Called the call centre (nice people, who confirmed that job wasn't logged by app and confirmed that the app is temperamental). The app is pointless, esp as the call centre are quick to answer the call and are great.
