Met someone very special to me on here! Should say that I used this app back in 2017 in NYC when I met that person. It was newish and gaining attention back then. NYC also has a huge population. Not so great for areas with lower population. The app has changed a lot since then, and I'm not so sure they've been able to attract more users. I'm in Los Angeles now and recently gave it a shot again. Seems very harder to find real people these days...

Happn has fewer settings than similar apps and notably lacks a filter for languages spoken, so you have no idea if you can communicate with a match, particularly if you don't speak the local language in your area. A distance setting is also missing. It's not good enough simply to look for local matches if someone might be willing to relocate within a country for the right match. E-mail verification fails with a server error, and support says it cannot be verified later. Not worth paying for.

Cool concept but the app is incredibly slow. I've tried it on two different smartphones. Browsing profiles to swipe, checking messages, checking anything... The app loads and loads. Then they gave the GUI, colors, and logo a complete overhaul and it's even slower! Also, it gives a lot of fake messages and notifications that are just the app telling you to upgrade. The company seems bent on aesthetics and pressuring users to upgrade rather than providing a good experience.
