HOW DOES IT WORK?

When you cross paths with another happn user, their profile appears on your app. Did someone catch your eye? Like them secretly. We promise, the person will never know, unless they Like you back. Do you want to stand out? Send them a SuperCrush. Now you can send a message before you even get a Crush. And if the Like is mutual, then the Crush is yours! Now you can chat, and we’re counting on you to make that first message memorable. Show off your writing skills!

The happn app is free to download and to use. If you would like access to more features, you can switch to Premium by purchasing a subscription. With Premium, you get access to the list of people who have Liked your profile and you can send SuperCrushes to your favorite profiles so you’re sure to stand out.

At happn, confidentiality is our priority: your location is never visible to other members, only the places you crossed paths with them are shown. Ratings and reviews

Firstly. Notifications are terrible. It posts notifications to check out profiles just to open the app and tell you there's no one in your area. But if someone messaged you, good luck getting a notification. Secondly. The matches here are mostly scams. Two of my matches have completely changed their profile pics to completely different women. Another one was offering escort services. The rest haven't responded. Probably because they didn't get any notification. Definite buyer's remorse

As others have said there's just not enough people on the app and there's a lot of fake profiles. I live in Seattle and also spent a week up in Vancouver and came across one other person on the map. This subscription is currently absolutely not worth the money. hppn's response to this review suggesting I visit more areas and keep location settings enabled is laughable. I have been all over Seattle and Vancouver with location enabled. This recommendation hppn trying to blame anything else.

Update: So I'm pleased to see that alternate options have been added to make it possible to register, but I am still concerned with the thought that apps like Tinder and Bumble are more widely used, thus the number of people using Happn are most likely going to be low... especially in this day and age where people don't like the idea of doing any work to find someone (i.e. going outside and walking around (even though they play Pokémon GO, which requires this very thing)).
