About this app

✨ "It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities" - Albus Dumbledore ✨

āš ļø iChooseTo may not work on devices that are very restrictive with background processes (e.g. Samsung, OnePlus, Huawei, Xiaomi). Please visit dontkillmyapp.com to eventually make it work! āš ļø

šŸ”„ Main functionalities:

šŸ›‘ iCT: Before you open an app (of choice), a screen appears (for a chosen amount of time), asking you if you really want to open it.
ā³ re-iCT: Choose again after a certain amount of time.
šŸ” iCT-on-unlock: Stop unconsciously checking your phone! iCT-on-unlock will show up each time you attempt to unlock your phone and ask you if you really want to do it.
šŸ“± Do you find yourself wasting hours on semi-productive apps like YouTube, Instagram, Reddit, or WhatsApp?
🤯 Have you tried every PlayStore app that promises to boost your productivity, but you still have the bad habit of opening time-wasting apps without a second thought?

šŸ’” Why is iChooseTo different?

āœ… 1) It gives YOU the power to choose: You can use apps for both productive and unproductive things. So why block them completely? iCT asks you if you really want to open the app and forces you to make conscious decisions.

ā³ 2) It stops you BEFORE you already wasted time: Many app blockers stop you after you've run out of time ā±ļø. They limit the time you're able to waste. iCT makes it less likely that you'll waste time in the first place!

šŸš€ Give it a try, write a review with ideas for improvement, and be part of making this the best app-blocking app for Android! šŸ’™

I love the simplicity of this app but I would really appreciate a dark mode so I don't get blinded when trying to open apps in the evening or morning. Aside from that there are 2 slightly obnoxious bugs: 1. When I tilt the phone during the waiting time it resets the waiting time. 2. When I open a link to an app that I've "locked" behind Ichooseto, oftentimes I'll end up in the main menu, not the post/video that the link was sending me to.

I have u covered: there's a night/dark-mode in the settings!! 1. It's on my list, but I don't know when I get to code it. It might take some months, I'm sorry:/ 2. My suggestion is to use "delay iCT" for those apps, for maybe 5 seconds so it has time to load the content. U can customize ict for each app by longpressing in the applist! Thank ušŸ¤—

Seems to be helping me use certain apps less. The only con I've noticed so far is that if I try to open some apps (Facebook, Insta) through a notification, it doesn't always go to that post. Sometimes, and I haven't figured out a pattern yet, it just opens the main feed.

Hi, thanks for your honest feedback! Please use Delay-iCT or Pause-iCT (u can apply it only to those specific apps) to work around those bugs. Best regards

Excellent app, exactly what I wanted. It gives me friction that I desperately need, and it is free! One thing that bother me is, there is no friction on "stop ICT" button, which kinda negates the meaning of that app for me. If I'm addicted to my phone and I want to use it, one click on that button and it's all open bouffant. Why not put a timer on that button as well, with are you sure prompt??

The idea with the timer is a beautiful idea :) I initially thought the opening of the app is friction enough. My app is all about choice and regaining the power over your addiction - so I don't want to force my app to run! I recommend taking deep breaths when my app appears so u'll train your awareness:)
