iSMS2droid can restore all your SMS texts and iMessages from an Apple iPhone backup into Android's messaging app - FOR FREE!

Please be aware that this app only works with unencrypted SMS databases. If you have encryption enabled for your backups, disabled it and create a new backup - you can of course enable encryption again after the import.

--- Instructions ---

Step 1) Check https://isms2droid.com for detailed instructions on how to get your iPhone SMS database, then copy it via USB cable/Dropbox/etc. onto your Android phone.

Step 2) Start iSMS2droid and tap on "Import Messages" to select your iPhone SMS database file.

Step 3) Choose if you want to import all messages, or select specific conversations by contact.

Step 4) Rate or review this app on Google Play if you are happy with it.

Absolutely, utterly brilliant. Caution though - if you are not familiar with things like displaying hidden folders on your PC etc, you may get in trouble. But if you read the instructions carefully, the transfer of your texts will just happen, and you will be free of Apple's shackles forever. I spent hours trying different apps, procedures and cables to get the texts over to the shiny new Android from the ghastly iPhone, and was ready to give up - now it's all done. Thank you :-D

Give Jan Grewe a medal! This app is excellent - thankyou! Recently I'd forgotten to transfer all available data from my old iPhone to a new Android device. It seems that once past the 'new device' set up procedure - it becomes much more difficult to transfer your SMS messages etc at a later time. I saw some solutions that actually will only work for Samsung phones, but then I found 'iSMS2droid' - problem solved! Follow the instructions very carefully! It works like a charm. Thank you again.

The part this app does worked perfectly. For me I had to delete half the contents of my iPhone first because I didn't have loads of space on my c drive and iTunes does not allow user selection of the backup folder. Also, iTunes will continue a backup that's going to fail because the data is larger than the free space until there is no more free space and then doesn't clean up afterwards.
