The LibriVox audio book app makes it easy to find the book you want. You can see the most popular books, browse by title, author or genre, look at new recordings, or search by keyword. You can even find books read by a favorite narrator. This app allows you to stop playback with a sleep timer, and unlimited bookmarks are available for each book. You can save and listen to as many books as you like. Access to the LibriVox collection, thousands of old time radio dramas, and many other collections is entirely free.

With full support for bluetooth controls as well as Android Auto and Google Cast, LibriVox Audio Books makes it easy to take your books with you wherever you go. Lists of favorites, recent books, and downloaded books make it easy to pick back up just where you left off.

I would normally rate four stars. I would rate it a five stars if it wasnt for all the advertisements and adds. Recently, the last update made the app frusterating to use. I cant remove downloads now when I finish a book which keeps my phone full. also I cant save any books now. as soon as I close the app and come back they are all gone and I have to find them all over again. Fix this and the app will go back to 4 stars. The updates should be tested for these bugs before putting them out.

Ive used LibriVox for years and love it! But not loving the new UI direction. Besides the general layout change, timer is dark now (when night time filters are on) and the zooming in and out/easy font change was taken away. And whhhhyyyy use AI art?? It would be easy to find public domain art for the genres. It hurts the experience of finding great old books. Please use some of the amazing old public domain art thats available out there.

Quality readings of classic novels, dissertations, essays, etc., though there is a notable lack of contemporary titles. Advertisements on Librivox run seemingly unchecked -- as in, screen-enveloping Temu ads with teensy exit buttons and unskippable, force-replaying "game" ads that disservice the app a great deal. Otherwise, an exceptional, free app with dedicated volunteers!

Thanks for your review and feedback. We do not have contemporary titles because they are protected by copyright laws. Unfortunately, it is illegal to make a recording of a copyrighted book and give it away for free. I hear your concerns about the ads and have shared it with our technical team.

What’s new

New: rewind button in the mini-player, playback speed shown while listening, and swipe-to-remove on your lists. Recent and Completed lists are now editable, with smarter genre-based recommendations in the Catalog.

Fixed: audio getting stuck or not resuming, ads interrupting chapters abruptly, duplicate books in the catalog, and playback position not restoring on new devices.

Covers and text now scale with your device's font size.
