About this app

gStrings is a chromatic tuner application measuring sound pitch and intensity. This is the ad supported version.

It will let you tune any musical instrument (violin, viola, violoncello, bass, guitar, piano, wind instruments, your own voice/singing).

Features include:
1. multiple built-in instruments and tunings,
2. support for user-defined custom tunings,
3. a long list of built-in temperaments (just, pythagorean, meantone, comma, etc.),
4. support for user-defined custom temperaments,
5. orchestra tuning (shifting/redefining tone frequencies),

It makes me sad to give this anything but 5 stars. Longtime paid user, bassist, loved this app to pieces, but after the latest update...yikes. It seems less sensitive and reliable, more or less unusable for me. A lot of the time the needle seems stuck; playing string bass open strings seems to work more or less OK, but any other notes on the fingerboard are a gamble. I don't understand what this new update was supposed to fix, it was GREAT a few weeks ago.

I just switched to this app & it's amazing. It is so precise, & very easy to use. Other apps I've tried, (you know the one with the fish), just aren't that accurate. Plus the all the unwanted extras. Ads! This is an excellent app. I highly recommend it to anyone who just wants to tune their guitar without the extra noise. Aloha tuna

I have been using this app basically since Android devices came out. Something messed up with the new update and it doesn't work anymore. The dial doesn't move, it doesn't sense notes. This is THE essential android app that I have always installed on every phone I've had. Please fix the bug so I can keep using it!
