About this app

Medical ID allows creating medical profiles that are accessible from your lock screen. In case of emergency, profiles enable quick access to vital information such as your allergies, blood type, medical contacts, etc. that are essential to attending first responders, medics, or medical staff having to take action. You can also share your location with emergency contacts even when the app is closed (for up to 24 hours or until you stop sharing).

The display and access of your medical information from your lock screen are made possible via an accessibility service to enable and that is part of the core features of the app. Once enabled, the accessibility service displays a widget over your lock screen. This widget helps people who have disabilities, or first responders in case of emergency, to take action and access medical data.

This is the free version of the app. Upgrading to the premium version gives you access to more features and help us to maintain the app and add features. Please note the upgrade is required only once in your lifetime!a

The main reason I got this was because it is to show on the lock screen. But to have it show on the lock screen, it asks a bunch of extra questions that needs to be accepted like taking control of bunch of different things on my phone. My security privacy popped up telling me that it doesn't need to be 'all the time'. Like other apps also try to do. Why do I need location on when I'm not using it? I always keep my location off and 911 still knows where I'm at.

When the icon is pressed the only thing that shows up is my name, BMI, and an EDIT BUTTON. This is of no help to first responders! To see if I needed to update any info I pressed the EDIT button and then found the medical information I had filled out. I doubt any one trying to see this info would think to press an EDIT button. It needs to go DIRECTLY to the main info page.

I've had this several years and love that medical or others (like stores where I left it) can access my emergency contact info.... but now I need to update phone numbers and apparently can't unless I either delete and start over, or maybe upgrade.... frustrating
