About this app

ā—† 61 MILLION USERS ā—†

Yuka scans food, beauty & personal care products to decipher their ingredients and evaluate their impact on your health.

In a world of incomprehensible labels, Yuka provides clarity in one quick scan so you can make clear-sighted purchases.

Yuka uses a simple color code to inform you of the product's impact on your health: excellent, good, mediocre, or poor. You can access a detailed info page for each product, to help you understand its grade.

ā—† 3 MILLION FOOD PRODUCTS ā—†

Every product is evaluated according to 3 objective criteria: nutritional value, additives, and the organic dimension of the product.

ā—† 2 MILLION BEAUTY PRODUCTS ā—†

The scoring method relies on analyzing all of the product's ingredients. Every ingredient is assigned a level of risk, based on current scientific research.

ā—† BEST PRODUCT RECOMMENDATIONS ā—†

For any product with a negative grade, Yuka will recommend in total independence a similar product that's better for your health as an alternative.

ā—† 100% INDEPENDENT ā—†

Yuka is a 100% independent application. This means that product evaluations and recommendations are completely objective: no brand or manufacturer can influence them in one way or another. In addition, the application does not advertise. Find out more about our funding on our website.

Recommended in general. Easy to use and really useful. However, even though the process to add unknown products seems easy and straightforward, there's a big but, identifying ingredients from a rounded shape taking two pictures returns disappointing results. My camera app takes much better pictures of close objects than Yuka's. In addition, important parts of the previewed pictures get cropped automatically. Please consider investing more resources in improving this aspect.

Great app. Missing Compare feature. Sometimes I pick up two similar items (for example two types of milk) and although I can scan and analyze each, it would be great if there was a Compare feature where I could scan two items and it would show me their analysis side by side. Right now, I have to memorize the numbers of one and then compare to the other one. Thanks

It's a great app! Free version. The work behind the scenes saves me the time from having to do the research. There's a breakdown of ingredients and explain the risk factors. I scanned a Korean Face cleansing kit, and got the English translation of the ingredients. It doesn't work for all, but I was grateful for that one. They provide healthier alternatives as well. No ads, a plus! I look forward to seeing more products added. For a small yearly subscription, there's more. Thank you, Yuka Team!
