Excellent for learning languages like japanese, korean or chinese, but being french and decent in english, I can say it's definitely not the best app for these ones. Translations are sometimes a bit off and the sentences don't always make sense. But I'm currently learning korean and checked a bit the japanese and chinese lessons, and I find them really good. You can easily learn to read, you can practice your listening and even your oral skills, and I find the course structure really well done.

The app to actually learn a language. Unlike Duolingo, it has : lessons, a clear progression tree where you can easily find lessons that you want to review, personalized practice that you can adjust to whatever you want, not just chosen for you, (for example you can choose to make a 5 minutes review, 50 sentences or 20 if you prefer) and with their Deer plus app, you also have mini games to practice your vocabulary. Overall I use this when I want a serious practice. Get it on sale when you can.

very good experience as a beginner in Korean! Excellent audio quality and well thought exercises, teaching the logic of the language, with syntax for example. The minimal daily goal of 20xp seems quite ambitious for people who want to learn a language on the side. One small annoying point is that in the review function, the very first lesson is always automatically be selected for grammar and vocabulary, which one doesn't need to review most of the time. It would be better with nothing selected
