update: I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it's now working again. 👍 Contrary to what other reviews says I can still choose which country to connect to even with the free version. ....... Cute app but unreliable. Been trying for hours to make it work but the message "Bear signal lost Grr... Something went wrong. Please restart TunnelBear and try again." keeps showing and it's impossible to do anything. I have updated the app to latest version but still nothing...

Desktop works fine (with paid subscription as free tier now usually connects to a server in your own country which is useless), but mobile app lately is even more useless. "Oops, something went wrong, please try later" when opening, unless you uninstall and reinstall the app again (and that would only let you connect once, next launch you are quite likely to see same "ooops" message).

This App just no longer works, keeps disconnecting when using apps, while browsing. I have missed important messages from loved ones in the hospital. unreliable app and support. they think all you have to do with your life is wait for an email reply from them. can't even call for service and it's 2026. stay away and save your money. Bears helping me? give me a break.
