BBC Weather app and your privacy:

About BBC Weather:
BBC Weather is responsible for preparing and broadcasting weather forecasts across the BBC, in association with the MeteoGroup. It broadcast its first weather forecast in 1922 and by 1936 was pioneering the use of weather maps during TV forecasts. The BBC Weather app was launched in 2013 and is now one of the most popular weather apps in the UK.

Ratings and reviews

I was very pleased with the app when it first came out but in recent times the "improvements" they have made have destroyed it. The app always takes the most pessimistic view in the day summary which doesn't match the hourly forecast. For example the overview may say heavy rain but when you look at the hourly forecast it says it's going to be a nice sunny day except for one hour when the rain is just a possibility. I also often find that forecast is wrong anyway. A great app ruined!

Lots of bugs. Example icon shows temperature down to -5 tonight, however looking into the night, or full 24 hour period, the app shows a low of - 2. This has been ongoing for at least a year. Feedback option in app not working, so just goes to show how the BBC value customer feedback! Also when opening, app opens not on correct/current location! Basic stuff that the BBC never fixes, despite customer feedback!

*Final update* I keep hoping this app returns to it's former glory but it is still appalling. I really wanted to use it as I like it's clarity and simplicity, but it just doesn't work. Uninstalled and replaced with a different app - which isn't as straightforward... but at least it works! Seriously, what have you done to this app. Use to work perfectly, now won't open from the widget most of the time. Have to clear the cache just about every time I use it. Rubbish.
