I became a listener about a year ago and have spent a lot of time on this great app. It gives you the opportunity to connect with people wanting support and to give you the opportunity to help them. It has also given me the opportunity to grow as a person where I have completed some academy programs and gained roles such as becoming a mentor. I would suggest that the quality of listeners vary a lot. The training that listeners need to do is also very limited with just 30 mins of into training.

In the past week app will just not open, members are waiting for reply for days which is frustrating and counter productive. There has been an issue with app notifications for months , and with email notifications going into spam there is no way of knowing someone messaged you. Please take personal security seriously, there has been so many cases of listeners requesting personal details with doubtful intentions whilst it is against rules. Free basis allows for predators abusing the platform

This was far from the experience I was hoping for. The "listeners" on the app are just other people. Youre better off offloading with your neighbour. They are described as "trained" which gives the impression that they are to some extent professional, but I did not perceive that from anyone I spoke to. For example, when I summarised what I wanted to talk about in a paragraph similar to this length and the "listener" replied "that's so long :-P". Gee, thanks, I feel so much better. only the start.
