About this game

Don't just play chess. Train like a master. Chess King teaches the game the way strong players are actually built — with a rigorous, structured curriculum, not a random feed of puzzles.

Want to master chess or take your game to the next level? Chess King is a comprehensive learning platform for players of all levels: from beginners making their first moves to experienced chess players looking to hone their tactics and strategy.

The app acts like an experienced mentor: it offers structured courses, provides hints when you make mistakes, explains correct solutions and shows rebuttals to incorrect moves. You don’t just solve puzzles — you understand the logic behind every decision.

Program advantages:

♔ More than 100 courses to choose from: pick the one that suits you best!
♔ University mode: master the material step by step and watch your skills improve. This mode is perfect for those who want to learn systematically using a ready‑made curriculum.
♔ High‑quality puzzles: each puzzle has been verified for accuracy. You need to find all the key moves intended by the author, taking into account possible alternatives in response to your opponent’s moves.
♔ Smart assistant: the app will show you why a move was unsuccessful and how your opponent could have responded. If you get stuck, you can play out the move against the computer.
♔ Interactive theoretical lessons: you can not only read the lesson texts but also make moves on the board and independently analyse unclear points with the computer’s help.
♔ Position analysis: any position from practical puzzles and theoretical lessons can be analysed using the built‑in chess engine.
♔ Tactics development: special exercises and courses on chess tactics, including versions adapted for children.
♔ Opening study: train with the opening trainer, explore the opening tree and consolidate your understanding of the early stages of the game.
♔ Level assessment: take a short test and the app will determine your current level for any of the University programs — so you can start learning from the right place right away.
♔ Play anywhere: train offline — you only need an internet connection to sync data and download new courses.
♔ Progress tracking: monitor your performance in the statistics section — the app saves your rating history and daily task load.
♔ Daily goal reminder: choose a comfortable daily number of puzzles and get a reminder to train at a convenient time.
♔ Unified account: link your free Chess King account and continue learning on other devices (Android, iOS, macOS, Web) without losing progress or access to purchased courses.
♔ Tablet support: the interface is optimised for large screens.

Each course includes a free part — try out the methodology, assess the difficulty of the exercises and verify the quality of the material before purchasing.

You can purchase courses individually or subscribe for access to an expanded set of programs for a selected period.

Best affordable tactics trainer. It's better than the tactics courses on chessable, which are also really good in their own rights.

Great app for learning chess. Please add an option to flip board in all modes. Sometimes I would like to view the position from the opponent's side in order to get a different perspective of the position. Pre-move would also be nice especially when practicing a simple line in K+P vs K when there are no branches and all king moves are straight forward all the way until the pawn promotes.

Hi! Thanks for the feedback. You may use the rotation gesture to invert the board. Just put two fingers on the board and make a cycle movement.

Good app, but it would be even better if Android version did not "steal" space at the left and right side of the board (contrary to iPhone version, which uses all width of the screen). My phone is Xiaomi mi max 2, it is wide, but no matter of that you do not use all the width - putting buttons at the left and right side (which could be put below the board), therefore the board is small.

Hi, You may enable "Big board" option in the settings so the buttons will be placed below the board.
