I've loved chess for around 25 years, but I've never been particularly good at it. This app is the first thing that I've found that makes me excited to learn and play chess every day. It's like Duolingo for chess because it gamifies the learning process. The only thing that I would change would be to add a game archive. It'd be very useful to look through old games move by move to study my strategy and better understand how I'm progressing, and it'd be helpful to see my great moves or blunders.

I use one other chess app i like for training but it doesn't play AI games. Tried a couple others I didn't like. This app is the best I have used. I upgraded to the paid version and it is worth it! I used to be a good chess player. I am over 60 now and have only played a few times over the last 20 years. I no longer see more than a couple moves ahead. I make dumb mistakes from not seeing the whole board. This app is already changing that. Get this, serious.

Great feedback to help beginners increase board awareness and practice skills. Sometimes the coaching seems random and robotic (suggesting to attack an empty center square rather than take the opponents undefended minor piece) to teach one principle when another may be equivalent or better but it is a computer so it can't be perfect, at this price at least. Recommend for anyone looking for coaching rather than just playing and not sure if you are making good decisions.
