I still don't like the learning paths. You have no choice in your lesson, and because there's no pictures like before, you can't easily decide to revisit an old topic. Apart from that, the app is definitely getting better. I very much like the update on learning kanji. Instead of endlessly drawing the same strikes, you have to read and recognize it in different contexts.

Having finished a course, and still doing 2 more I first have to commend the accessibility and fun interactive nature of this app. It's great for getting into a new language and I'm happy that it offers so much for free. Butttt, it's clear now (I had a suspicion for a while that Duo doesn't really go beyond B1 level) that it, in fact, doesn't go beyond B1 level. I have finished the Italian course, and now I only have daily practice of beginner level Italian. I wish it aimed for fluency instead.

The translations in Dutch are very sluggish and sometimes even wrong or never used in that way. It looks like the've used Google Translate to make these kind of sentences! If Duolingo wants to correct that, there should be a correction button' at all time and not only when you make a mistakes! For now, if you want to learn Dutch with Duolingo, be prepared for some laughs and corrections from Dutchmen!
