The myRAC app has everything you need in one handy place.

Use our route planner to plan journeys and avoid traffic jams with real time updates. Get the latest driving news and advice. Plus, you can set handy app and email reminders for your MOT test, car service, insurance, and tax so you won’t miss important dates. And if you’ve got cover with us, you can manage your membership and report your breakdown online, straight from the app. It’s the quickest way to get help if you break down.

Ratings and reviews

The app has a fuel finder with a maximum distance of 10 miles. As an app for a city dweller it probably works well, but I live in rural Scotland. There is an overpriced Esso here. The next nearest fuel is 11 miles, then 17, then 21 miles. People who need cheaper fuel are the people going long distance - Holidaymakers pour through here, then find they have no choice but pay, so there's good reason for the myRAC app to have a 20 or even 30 mile radius - it doesn't matter to the algorithm.

Despite having a "biometric login" button. It doesn't give the option to use fingerprint. It doesn't even remember login details for password login. Doesn't sound like a major issue I know but, when you are broken down on the side of a "smart" motorway at night it could be a tad frustrating. Also a "show password" icon would help. It's not as if it has to be super secure. Sort it out please RAC.

I installed this app as an alternative satnav to Google maps, but after going through registration, setting it up and entering a route, I found that for map navigation you have click through to use Google maps anyway! And although we have RAC car insurance, you can't manage it through this app - the only facility is to apply for an insurance quote! So I intend to uninstall it.
