"Surely all these bad reviews are exaggerated," I thought as I installed this to listen to an audiobook. It is that bad, worse even. The 2.9 average is far too high for an app that lacks so many basic features that it barely exists at all. The UI is basically non-existent. Zero design went into it. There is no progress indicator in audiobooks except for chapters. Pausing from outside of the app causes it think you're "offline" and won't resume. There are random pauses, occasional jumping around.

I detest this app. It is the worst of the worst when it comes to audio. If only the library offered another choice. You cannot use a Bluetooth device (speaker, ear buds, car, etc.) to operate. It stops all of the time and when it stops it doesn't remember where you are, but backs up. And when it stops you can't restart it except from the app. Anytime you press play it does a weird notification first instead of just starting. I took a big break hoping it would get better, but no such luck.

Boundless is so frustrating to use. It randomly stops and can't be used when my phone screen is off, there is no setting to see how much is left in the book, and the app doesn't save my spot. I also hate how I can't set the speed to 1.75, which is my preferred speed. Even if my library has books available without a wait on Boundless, I would rather buy them or find an alternative.
