Fantastic app for repurposing old smartphones. I have been using hidden camera detector for years and it works great. I think it's better than a lot of surveillance cameras. Many of these cameras require you to pay for a membership in order to have access to recorded footage, while the hidden camera app will continuously record and overwrite older footage if it is not saved. This is a great app!

Either the entire app sucks, or the free version is useless. .. I'm not starting any 'Free Trials' to find out either. A lot of people use old cell phones as hidden cameras, right? So that's what I tested this on. I pointed this directly at a cell phone camera lens, and nada. Tried various settings on the app, and on the other phone(camera.) Maybe the paid version would detect it? Maybe there's no way to detect that? Idk now 🤷‍♀️

I do not mind having adds on an app, UNLESS those ads are very loud and obnoxious, AND if it is difficult to get the ad to stop running or to disappear, OR if the ads try to scare the user in (FALSELY) believing that their phone is infected w malware, a virus or otherwise has something wrong with their phone, all to get the user to download another app. I find this very unethical, and thus, I deleted this Hidden Device Camera locator app because the ads met ALL 4 criteria listed above.
