About this app

Alert SacRT: Free Safety and Security Mobile App for Riders

The Alert SacRT Safety and Security App offers riders a quick and discreet method for reporting safety and security concerns directly to RT Police. App users can send photos, six second video, text descriptions, and locations of suspicious people or activities. From the home screen, users have two easy options for contacting RT Police:

* The “Report an Issue” button allows users to send text or photos directly to RT. To ensure discretion, the camera flash is automatically disabled when photos are taken through the app. When reporting an issue, users can select locations and report categories to assist RT Police. Riders can also send reports anonymously if they chose.

* The “Call RT Police” button will connect customers directly to RT Police.

The application is designed for robust operation even under conditions of poor signal strength. If you send a report from an area without cellular/Wi-Fi connectivity, it will be stored and sent when connectivity returns. The system is also designed to send text descriptions before photos so that the police can get information as quickly as possible.

Additional Features:

BOLO (Be On the Look Out) Alerts. BOLO Alerts on Alert SacRT may display alerts from RT Police about specific persons of interest. For example, RT may display information about a missing person or child, such as where they were last seen. If you see a person from a BOLO, immediately call 9-1-1 and send an app report to RT discreetly.

Help keep RT safe, "See It - Hear It - Report It."

It's great to have this app. Fortunately I have not had to use it to report an incident. On the alerts, however, it would be great if we could select one or more lines to receive alerts, instead of getting alerts for all lines. Furthermore the ability to select a time period for alerts would be great too.

Update: SacRT said: On Android based phones, go to Settings > Notifications. Find the SacRT app, then turn off notifications for that app. It works for the most part. I've had some phantom alerts come through. Original review : It would be nice if there was way to change notifications options. Or even disable them. This app has been the source of marital frustrations when it wakes us up a 3am. Or 5am. Or disrupts meetings or church. Still getting notifications. Uninstalled.

It's ok. I mainly use it for alerts but unfortunately, even though it has you select which line you would like to receive alerts from, I still receive alerts from all of them which is really annoying.
