The app recommended updating one of my 4Ah HighPower batteries. Update stopped halfway with a error. Now the battery is bricked and got stuck with the bluetooth light blinking. Its not working anymore and out of warranty as well. It was working perfectly fine before. So don't update if you don't need to. EDIT: Festool was very helpful and replaced the battery free of charge.

Forced logout. For "security reasons". Can't access my Bluetooth tools any longer. Ever heard of randomised passwords? Makes forced reauthentication a major pain. Local mode requires sign-in, forgets any previously known device. Renders the app useless. Biometric option if only uses fingerprint is useless. Dead easy to exploit. And doesn't work w/ my thumbs. Separate device management from purchases. Would do away even the need for a session. Sign in once, sync devices, sign out, done.

Thank you for your feedback! For security reasons, we check the login every 3 months. Since the latest update (version 2.7.0) we offer our customers the possibility to set a biometric login. Your Festool-Team!

Updated experience March 2021: It now works good, but I am still concerned at the frustrations experienced at first..perhaps there is an Intermittent failure? Original experience February 2021: I have wasted much valuable time trying to register my newly purchased tools. The QR scan doesn't work, so I manually entered Part Numbers and Serial Numbers for 3x New Power tools. Having entered data manually, ticked all the boxes and photographed the invoice, it won't upload...much time wasted.
