I bought the Fing a long time ago. The "premium" features use to be free. I feel like this was a bait-and-switch play by Fing to just get more money. With the basic features moving to the Premium version, it locks me out of making any changes including adding new allowed devices to my network. Fing is now basically holding my network for ransom. I either have to pay for what was previously free or turn the Fing off. I guess it is time to unplug it. It was fun while it lasted.

I bought a fingbox back when they were just getting started, and it has been an amazingly useful device, with a wonderful, intuitive app to control it. But over the past couple years, they've been making the app less intuitive, and less useful. This last update has stripped out the ability to assign "personal" network devices to people, and thus see a quick list of who is currently attached to the network. This was the most useful feature fing had, and now it's gone.

This app used to work great but the quality dropped after the addition of fing desktop. After setting up the desktop app, the mobile app became useless by no longer performing device scans. Devices that I'm certain are online (by navigating directly to the IP) don't show in the list and the list never refreshes, just shows an outdated network status. Fing desktop for Mac was also a disappointment, I wonder if the mobile app would have kept working if I never installed the desktop app.
