About this app

Okta Verify is a lightweight app that allows you to securely access your apps via 2-step verification, ensuring that you, and only you, can access your app accounts.

While you access your apps, you'll choose a 2-step verification method provided by Okta Verify to finish signing in. You can verify your identity using a push notification sent to your device (if enabled by your organization), a temporary 6-digit code, or biometrics (if enabled by your organization).

We do request permission to use your device camera so that you can scan a QR code when you enroll your device with Okta.

Works until it doesn't. Even when allowing the app to use the battery in the background, every few days the icon disappears and the app no longer opens. at that point I have to clear the cache, data, and re-enter all of my information. This is getting so repetitive, inefficient, and annoying. I wish my company still allowed us to verify by getting a code by text.

Not happy I need this app to authenticate for school. It requires some very sketchy permissions such as ability to discover, pair and advertise to nearby bluetooth devices. What does that have to do with authentication? No, they're probably tracking me (and you) to make money from advertisers. Oh, it also has access to your phone calls including the phone numbers of any active calls you're on. It can browse network connections (ie, to attempt to geolocate you). Security nightmare.

Update 1/6/2026: still not sure what's going on, but having the same issue as back in Sept '25 (even after so-called Nov '25 update - try to open the app and nothing. Black screen with logo in the middle. Nothing more. App never opens. Suggestions would be appreciated. Original: Not sure what 'fix' you did, but it's no fix. I need this for my job, but now when I try to open the app, it just goes to a black screen with the logo in the center. That's it. WTH? Y'all need to take care of this asap!
