About this app

You sit down with ten things to do. Everything feels urgent. Instead of starting, you freeze. Stare at the screen, scroll your phone, reorganize the list by color. An hour disappears and nothing got done.

That's not laziness. It's cognitive overload: when everything feels equally urgent, your brain can't figure out where to begin. Untangle: Beat Procrastination is built to fix exactly that moment.

WHAT UNTANGLE DOES DIFFERENTLY
Most to-do apps hand you a longer list to manage. Untangle does the opposite. It turns your overwhelming list into one small step you can start right now.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Brain Dump. Type or speak everything on your mind: deadlines, worries, unfinished tasks, random thoughts. No folders, no categories, no setup required.
2. Meet Aaron. Your personal task mentor reads your brain dump and picks out the one thing to focus on first, breaking it into a step small enough to start immediately.
3. One Step at a Time. Instead of a long list staring back at you, you get a single, doable action. Finish it, and Aaron hands you the next one.

FEATURES
Task Breakdown. Turns big, vague tasks like "clean the kitchen" into small, concrete steps like "put one bowl in the sink."
Aaron, Your Mentor. A calm, encouraging guide that helps you decide what to do next. No guilt, no nagging, no shame.
Focus Timers. Built-in timers help you stay with one task without switching away halfway through.
Body Doubling. Work alongside a virtual presence that keeps you accountable and focused, even when you're on your own.
Zero-Setup Onboarding. No calendars to connect, no categories to build. Open the app, share what's on your mind, and get your first step in seconds.

WHO UNTANGLE IS FOR
If you've ever known exactly what you needed to do and still couldn't start, Untangle was built for that gap. It's for anyone stuck between a full to-do list and an empty sense of where to begin: students facing deadlines, professionals juggling too many priorities, and anyone tired of to-do apps that just make the list longer.

WHY IT'S DIFFERENT
Traditional productivity apps assume your problem is organization. But if you're already overwhelmed, a better filing system doesn't help you start. Untangle is built around a different idea: the bottleneck isn't knowing what to do, it's the bridge between thought and action. So instead of asking you to organize, plan, and prioritize, Untangle removes all of that and hands you just the next step.

REAL PEOPLE, REAL RESULTS
Untangle has helped students push through to graduation, helped professionals clear task backlogs that had piled up for weeks, and helped countless people go from staring at a blank screen to finally getting moving. People tell us it's the first productivity app that didn't make them feel more behind than when they started.

A FEW THINGS PEOPLE ASK
Do I need to organize anything before I start? No. Skip the folders and categories. Just open the app and say what's on your mind.
What if my list feels too messy to explain? That's exactly what the Brain Dump is for. Messy is fine. Aaron sorts it out, not you.
Is this just another to-do list? No. To-do lists assume you're stuck on organizing. Untangle assumes you're stuck on starting, and solves for that instead.

Just started today. Haven't drilled down into any other features, but it was very to the point and easy to start right away. Unlike some apps, it wasn't overwhelming or distracting with too many colors and options at the start. I liked the quick questions at the start to determine where I struggle, when I'm most productive, and it built a simple plan around my most pressing task to help me launch. The most distracting thing is prompting me for a review, lol. Thanks for the app!

Really glad the start felt calm and to the point rather than a wall of colors and options. That restraint is very much on purpose. Enjoy digging into the rest, and thanks for giving it a go!

Initial use seemed great. However, three days is not long enough to test an app and the free version is garbage. It wont load ads, so therefore the brain dump feature doesnt even work. The mic also suddenly doesnt understand me or hear half of what Im saying. When I try quick add instead, it doesnt break the items into steps which is what I most liked about the app. Also, $50 for an app upfront is extremely cost prohibitive and so is $9/wk. 2 week trial at minimum for an ask like that.

Thanks for the feedback. We have removed ads in the latest version, please give a try one more time. Also we’ve found many users experience Untangle’s core value within the 3-day trial. Untangle is positioned as a premium productivity app, with smart planning and task breakdown reflected in the pricing.

One of the many ADHD apps that have ridiculously short trial times (3 days) and demand a full year subscription paid up front with lots of high pressure tactics. All of these are red flags, plus there's no web or desktop version. It does a pretty good job of task breakdown, but is otherwise a finely tuned hard sales pitch. Avoid.

Thanks for the feedback, and glad the task breakdown worked for you! To clarify for anyone reading: you can skip the trial and use the app free with ads and limited features. Pricing is shown in full, and we offer weekly and annual options, not annual-only. Web version is coming in future once we reach 50K installs
