Utterly unusable. Everything from the registration process (a phone call with authentication figures read out far too quickly to be able to remember) to all the ID requirements and then it doesn't even work. My account is blocked - but why, I haven't had chance to do anything yet! I'm told it's essential for Chinese citizens but as a foreigner just use Alipay for payments. Still not easy to set up, but at least it works. It'll be a joy to uninstall this junk.

Honestly, WeChat is a total lifesaver if you have friends, family, or contacts who use it, because it handles everything from instant messaging and mini-programs to quick payments all in one place. It can be a bit overwhelming with all its features, but when you need to stay in touch across borders or scan a code on the go, it just gets the job done."

as a tiktok user iv been asked to join wechat to interact with more Asian users but the process is absolutely awful for me as a UK user. whilst I understand the desire to minimize spam etc the current system to get verified is not user friendly or inspiring. I'm not happy to set up a wallet and payment info on app that's new to me as a verification means and the one Asian user that I sent the QR code to to verify me can't complete it for some reason it's almost like you don't want users 😅
