Finally stopped crashing constantly! I was finally able to access device administrators on my Nexus 5 and disable Gmail as an administrator. This allowed me to restore Gmail to its factory version and then reinstall the latest update... And now after 3 months of endless crashes (even when using other apps), Gmail is working again thank the lord
Great app, but... Displaying messages only as conversations makes my life much harder, because I can not untangle messages I need to save from the ones I don't. Many times, unrelated messages are tangled together only because of identical subject. Why we do not have an option to switch this annoyance off and not having to use a second e-mail client to save individual messages?
Google's email client now handles pretty much all types of accounts from GMail to MS Exchange servers to your common POP and IMAP accounts. Its unified interface makes dealing with day to day email a breeze. For your average user there's no reason to use anything else. That said… currently the biggest gap in functionality is that there's no native support for PGP/GPG or S/MIME so if you need to send or receive encrypted email then this definitely isn't the email client for you. (N.B. If you need to communicate anonymously e.g. for human rights or whistleblowing, then it's highly debatable whether Android is the right platform to use, but that's a totally different discussion altogether!
Doesn't have digital signing and encryption features so gmail is not that good. I believe my emails are always being read by Google data mining company so this is bad.
Bugs recently My hotmail/outlook account that was added in the gmail app doesn't delete emails properly. Once I delete them, a minute later, they all come back (and gmail notifies me of this as if they were new emails altogether)..
On any Android version 7, this app breaks if you have more than 4 accounts. I did not have this issue before 7 on my other phones. Otherwise I wish it would get away from conversation view on Gmail accounts
