Material design is visually pleasing and allows for a uniform design language across Google's apps and services. This app, while aesthetically well done, is lacking in terms of practicality. For example, I cannot figure out how to highlight more than one email at a time, and that's assuming it's even possible to do so right now. For someone that receives a lot of email, the only option is to do it manually. With adult attention spans becoming shorter, this isn't a welcome feature(or lack thereof).
Can't swipe to delete (why not?) Bulk management is annoyingly touchy - works about 50% of the time; the rest of the time it opens the email (so frustrating!). A nice swipe left for delete or right for archive would be nice. Going back to Blue Mail for a while. Update: all mail in menu says 99+ messages. When I open it is says there's nothing there.
It has my cellphone number on it, placed the Google Verification Code, answered the security question and then it says it cannot verify it is you. I got the verification code thru a text message on my cellphone and you cannot identify it is me? Seriously?! Zero star if it is available!
Spam folder is always empty. But if i open my gmail on a chrome browser, i see 64 messages in my spam folder. Please do some fix on this matter. Thanks.
Would be better with customizable themes and a condensed inbox setting to fit more email previews on the phone screen. Also maybe tracking frequently unopened senders to prompt an unsubscribe to help manage the inbox.
This new update, Feb '17, has fixed the flaw of text line falling below keyboard. Thank you. 100% fan again.
