Ratings and reviews

I've been pretty happy with Plex overall over the years (lifetime subscription). I'm very disappointed in the new update/layout of Plex done in 2025. I really dislike that I now have to have an additional two separate apps for photos and music now, so three Plex apps total. No way to add movies to a playlist. Definitely a big step backwards in my opinion.

Overall pretty happy with the FREE version of the app, but I wish they offered refunds on the subscription, because it's just broken. The phone app doesn't tell you download progress and also doesn't let you cast downloaded videos. Really ruined a movie night I had planned. The desktop app also doesn't cast. However the web version does, but that means that again, you can't cast downloaded materials. Waste of money.

Update: no more music. You need a new app for that. This is beyond useless now. --- 5 mins into a walk it just stops working. I suspect it's an issue with the server, but you can't use one without the other sooo... 2 stars. It's also missing a bunch of functionality compared to the web app, which doesn't work properly on mobile. So mobile users are just disadvantaged everywhere.
