LICENSED AND TRAINED THERAPISTS
BetterHelp therapists are licensed professionals with at least 3 years and 1,000 hours of hands-on experience. Our network includes psychologists, marriage and family therapists, clinical social workers, licensed professional counselors, and other similarly credentialed providers.

All of our therapists hold a Master’s Degree or a Doctoral Degree in their respective fields and have been qualified and certified by their state professional board, having completed the necessary education, exams, training, and practice.

Not using insurance? Individual self-pay plans typically range from $70 to $100 per week, billed every 4 weeks, and may vary based on location, preferences, and therapist availability. Your membership includes messaging and weekly live sessions and you can cancel at any time for any reason.

Ratings and reviews

Had two sessions, I'm satisfied with my therapist so far. Great match! The app works great and I love that if I write a message and I don't send it it is saved both in the app and in the Desktop version. I also love that you can set goals and you have a journal option. There is something I dislike about the interface of the videocall, but I still don't know what it is exactly. Maybe im just not used to it, as there is no timer or other things that you find in a normal video call from other apps

Just to clarify, my rating is only for the app itself and not the BetterHelp experience, which is great. Every single time I open the app and enter my pin code, it requires email or text message verification. It is incredibly annoying. Sometimes I need to open my app to do assignments from my therapist a few times a day, and every time it asks for verification. Not to mention that my mailbox is flooded with BetterHelp emails because of that. Meanwhile, banking apps are easier to access.

This app worked great for the first day I had it. Now all I get is a notification that says "could not connect to server, please check connection" whenever I open it. inconveniently this started happening RIGHT before my scheduled appointment I already paid for. It's not my phone, every other app works fine. I've tried without wifi, disabling ad blocks, reinstalling it etc and nothing has worked. It's extremely frustrating and disappointing considering I just spent nearly $300 to use this app.
