Orbot is a free VPN and proxy app that empowers other apps to use the internet more securely. Orbot uses Tor to encrypt your Internet traffic and then hides it by bouncing through a series of computers around the world. Tor is free software and an open network that helps you defend against a form of network surveillance that threatens personal freedom and privacy, confidential business activities and relationships, and state security known as traffic analysis.

Orbot is the only app that creates a truly private internet connection. As the New York Times writes, “when a communication arrives from Tor, you can never know where or whom it’s from.”

Tor won the 2012 Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) Pioneer Award.

I'd like to give a 5 star, but is very annoying to have to reinstall the app every time the Orbot can't connect. It isn't because of bridges, it just don't reconnect, and with this I mean that it works once, twice, or even a little more when you stop and begins it, but after it it just keep showing that it is starting... Maybe I haven't waited enough, or maybe it does have a problem, and I would love that working... BTW, it works propperly as it should, that's why I still try it.

Very useful app, you can choose where the traffic will exit, isolate connections of apps, and a plenty of other useful options and features. I had problems with isolated connections, when I isolated every single app and their requests, the internet in some apps just don't work with this feature enabled, looks like the requests takes minutes to process, don't know if is an limitation of Android itself or the app

Auto launches and I can't find any settings to disable the unwanted feature. This is needlessly slowing my connection while at trusted locations and makes the app more of a frustrating headache than anything. Uninstalling as I refuse to hand over control of my device to an app that lacks any reasonable settings. It's 2026 and options are standard, figure it out.
