Ratings and reviews

Windscribe VPN Free edition offers a clear, configurable interface with plenty of server locations, making it easy to use—especially if you stick with the default settings. On the downside, connecting to the two free UK servers can be slow at times or occasionally time out connecting, sometimes requiring multiple attempts. It does eventually connect, but the experience isn’t always as fast as you'd expect. I'm sure that the paid version would likely connect more reliably and quickly.

I am a paid user and have been using Windscribe for over 3 years. This new, overhauled android application is an absolute disaster!! It is filled with bugs and constantly crash, hangs for a minute when opened, instant connection in the previous versions have now turned into a multi-minute long battle to get it to load, work, be responsive before trying to connect! Absolutely horrendous and unnecessary! I urge Igor and the developers to fix all these problems or they will be losing customers.

Edit: Since 2017, such an improvement. The flaws noted below no longer apply. -- No option of whitelist or blacklist; It's all or nothing. No option to start automatically at startup. No custom DNS. Help Me! and My Account are just their website embedded. My Account doesn't even take you to your account, just the homepage. The service itself, I've never had any issues with.
