SimpleX Chat features:

- complete protection against spam and abuse: as you have no identifier on SimpleX platform, you cannot be contacted unless you share a one-time invitation link or an optional temporary user address.
- full ownership, control and security of your data: SimpleX stores all user data on client devices, the messages are only held temporarily on SimpleX relay servers until they are received.
- decentralized proxied peer-to-peer network: you can use SimpleX Chat via your own relay servers and still communicate with people using pre-configured or any other SimpleX relay servers.

You can connect to anybody you know via link or scan QR code (in the video call or in person) and start sending messages instantly - no emails, phone numbers or passwords needed.

Your profile and contacts are only stored in the app on your device - relay servers do not have access to this information.

All messages are end-to-end encrypted using open-source double-ratchet protocol; the messages are delivered via relay servers using open-source SimpleX Messaging Protocol.

In my opinion, how everything is arranged is quite messy especially when I invite newbies to the app. I was confused too for a "simple" app. Everything including the "notes" thing should be in a sidebar on the left side if that makes sense while only contacts shows on the front. This app reminds me of WhatsApp, but private. I love how you can customize the themes of the app. My request is more simplicity and the option to choose a hex code instead of just a color wheel. Thanks

App keeps crashing (updating didn't fix it). I can open it just fine but the second I try to click something it just crashes without any error message (sometimes the app works for 5-10 seconds). Great messenger but completely unusable for me as of now... Already emptied the cache, disabled permissions, uninstalled webview updates, restarted everything and tried to export while on airplane mode - nothing works... Edit: Problem started after connecting a second desktop device yesterday

Can't disable push notifications. If you try to disable the constant drop down menu notification that says you can receive messages, it disables notifications for all chats received. The only option is to let that annoying ... symbol love at the top of your phone screen. Also, changing the colors in your chats is not super easy if you are OCD about your replies to people's messages and your regular messages to them showing in the same color.
