Orbot is a free VPN and proxy app that empowers other apps to use the internet more securely. Orbot uses Tor to encrypt your Internet traffic and then hides it by bouncing through a series of computers around the world. Tor is free software and an open network that helps you defend against a form of network surveillance that threatens personal freedom and privacy, confidential business activities and relationships, and state security known as traffic analysis.

Orbot is the only app that creates a truly private internet connection. As the New York Times writes, “when a communication arrives from Tor, you can never know where or whom it’s from.”

Tor won the 2012 Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) Pioneer Award.

Good, but still has problems! You can not change country, it just reverts to the auto server. Constantly changes countries as well, so not good for region blocked apps, as it won't stay connected to any one country. It's a good app when It works but needs some serious refinement! It's been out for a while now, you would think it would be stable, but it isn't. Uninstalled it until the bugs are worked out!

the app worked really well the first few times, but then it suddenly dropped down to 0 kbps download and upload speed. no change in my internet at all during this time. this doesn't change with what WiFi i use, whether i use wi-fi or data, or whether I'm close to or far from the router. i even tried uninstalling and reinstalling but that didn't work. if this is fixed, though, it will definitely be much better.

Keep having to reinstall it for two reasons. First reason is the when I try to disconnect from for or the VPN it just won't, I try to disconnect from either of them, it disconnects for a few seconds then just reconnects even though it appears the buttons are not active. The second reason is that sometimes I cannot connect to tor, I click the big circle button and it just gets stuck saying "connecting." Other than that it works fine but it's really annoying having to reinstall it all the time.
