Ratings and reviews

I've been using Edge for years but in the last year it feels like it has become less and less compatible with websites. The main issue? The fixed navigation bar at the bottom of the screen, it can't be hidden and blocks content/reduces screen real estate, forms and even cookie selection. Microsoft, remove this bar, Chrome does not have this issue. Why did you think it was a good idea to steal screen space on a mobile browser?

It has been 4yrs since my last review. Edge has certainly come a long way, but it still gets a few things wrong. My experience: - still no bottom address bar. - you can't customise the homepage to show frequently-visited sites. - it doesn't play nice with DarkReader. - no way to switch away from InPrivate browsing mode if it's disabled by parental controls. This was probably a bug on my device.

Used to work perfectly, but lately after browsing for a while, I suddenly get messages claiming Edge isn't responding, which slows down the whole interface. Now the "isn't responding" message happens so frequently, even interfering with my app use and making me accidentally select the "close app" button, causing me to lose progress.
