Started off well, but it's become too much hassle. For several weeks there were no working bikes at all at Elstree station. Customer service were having "issues". Then I had to update the app, and had to sign in and add payment details again. This was so painfully slow that I gave up and got the bus. Any transport app needs to be slick, easy and reliable, and unfortunately Beryl fails at all of these.

Thanks for your feedback. We apologise for the inconvenience caused. We understand how frustrating it is when bikes aren't available or the app doesn’t work as expected. We're actively working on improving bike availability and app performance to ensure a more reliable, seamless service. We appreciate your patience as we improve our service.

Great app but far too expensive. My current bike needed repair so I tried using a Beryl bike in the meantime, but it just cost me £10 for 2 x 20 minute rides - it would be cheaper for me to buy a new bike to use for the week! My experience of riding the bike was ok - the gears didn't work and the electric was useless, plus I had to scan over 10 bikes at 3 different locations to find one that was available and would unlock, but for a communal bike it's what I'd expect, just not for that price.

This service has great potential, but it falls short in practice. There are rarely bikes available when needed, and the ones that are tend to be in poor condition. On top of that, the new expensive “use it or lose it” 30-day passes have made the experience even less appealing. I’ve decided to stop using it altogether. Beryl could really use some competition—bring in Lime bikes! They’re faster and far more affordable!
