About this app

Travel confidently around London with Transport for London's official app, built around our iconic live Tube map. Try switching to step-free mode and watch the map adjust to show only accessible stations, ensuring your journeys are as smooth as possible. With a clear, user-friendly design, TfL Go is easy for everyone to use.

Find the Best Route
We'll suggest multiple ways to get to your destination, whether by Tube, London Overground, Elizabeth line, DLR, Tram, National Rail, IFS Cloud Cable Car, or even cycling and walking. You choose the route that suits you best.

Check Before You Travel
Get live arrival times for Buses, Tube, London Overground, Elizabeth Line, DLR, Tram, and National Rail. Check the live status of all TfL lines and stations directly on the map, or view a summary of current disruptions in the "Status" section.

Freedom to Explore
Find travel options tailored to your needs, including step-free journeys and routes avoiding stairs or escalators. Journey plans automatically adapt to the accessibility status of stations, helping you avoid disruptions. TfL Go also supports TalkBack and different text sizes, making it more accessible for everyone.

Manage Your Payments
Create an account or log in to manage your payments for travel across London. Top up pay as you go credit or purchase Travelcards for your Oyster card, and view your journey history for both Oyster and contactless cards registered to your account.

Note: Oyster and contactless accounts can only be accessed within UK/Europe.

Understand Station Facilities
Check how busy a station is right now, or see if it has toilets or Wi-Fi access. Find detailed information about step-free access and interchanges including platform gap width, step height and boarding methods available.

The app itself is pretty good, but having the option to turn off "cycling" as a suggestion would make it better. We have two seniors and one person with a fairly recently broken ankle in our group, so cycling is NEVER an option. Having it come up as the recommended choice time and again is both annoying and impractical. Being able to remove that option would be great in circumstances like ours.

On the whole a good app. A few improvements would make it a great app particularly to help people from outside London. 1 - Show the zones on the map. It will save having to download a separate map. 2 - make it easier to plan journeys by allowing you to easily put in from location and different travel times rather than 'go now'. 3 - allow a longer time before the app auto refunds oyster credit or make it so you dont have to tap a reader to apply it to card. It allows for ahead planning.

Hi Richard, thank you for your feedback and ideas for improvement. Regarding point 2, you can do this currently in TfL Go; tap the 'Current location' button in blue to change the from location when searching for a journey; tap on 'Leaving now' to adjust the time of departure or arrival.

Since I want to have a sense of where I'm walking, I haven't used the route-finder. I downloaded the app to track and top up my oyster card, but as noted in other reviews, topping up doesn't work, so I have to go do that using machines at a tube station (really annoying if my next trip is on a bus). Why have the top up button if it just doesn't work? I am able to see my fare history, but only on home wifi, not when I'm out and about (and about to need a top up). Really not useful.

Hi, we've just released an update (2.3.1) which includes a fix for some top up issues we've been investigating. Please update and try again - please let us know if you still have issues.

What’s new

Improved: Journey plans are more detailed, with more accurate walking maps, and clearer details on changes between legs.
Improved: A clearer error message if TfL services are busy or unavailable
Improved: Some under-the hood changes to get us ready for some future features
Fixed: We now only show the crowding indicator on the end station of a leg with an interchange
Fixed: A couple of bugs with journey history and the Oyster balance widget
