Edit/addition to past review: Now it doesn't work at all. No camera controls, nothing connecting. after 2 years it's even worse than it was. Camera and phone both indicate WiFi connected but app doesn't work, still trying to connect the two. I tried the app because the remote control quit working and is not available. Time to toss this junk and get a GoPro.

So far I'm not impressed with this app. We bought the Akaso V50 to take with us on vacation in a few weeks. The camera is great so far. I finally managed to figure out the download/transfer but it isn't easy. After playing with it for an hour it seems you have to download all the pics/video's one at a time. I anticipate that after spending the day snorkeling, I will be spending my whole evening downloading & editing videos. In editing there are a number of items that do not work.

App won't stay connected to the wifi. After I've connected, it'll disconnect and won't connect back. I have to delete the device and re-add it. Then, when I try to do live view within the app to take photos or video, the screen on the app is dark, but I can see the controls. It's like I have a lens cap covering the lens on my phone when I don't . Trying to take photos, the app just freezes completely and stops working.
