The discovery of Exotic Matter (XM), a resource of unknown origin, has sparked a covert struggle between two Factions. BATTLE FOR CONTROL
Dominate territories by linking Portals and creating Control Fields to achieve victory for your Faction.

WORK TOGETHER
Strategize and communicate with fellow Agents in your neighborhood and around the world.

Agents must be over 13 years old (for residents outside of the European Economic Area); or over 16 years old or such age needed to consent to the processing of personal data in the Agent's country of residence (for residents of the European Economic Area). Unfortunately, no children may play Ingress.

Ratings and reviews

This game gets me out exercising. I've also found lots of hidden local art, free libraries, and really neat small businesses using this app. I don't put much energy into the competitive 'teams' aspect of the game - I just enjoy connecting local points of interest to make my own little "virtual sand castles" for someone else to knock down. Do be safety-aware playing this game - a lot of information about location is shared as you play. Younger kids should only be playing with adults.

It's not as much fun as it was a few years ago. The game is basically broken if you play honestly because Niantic won't ban cheaters edit, two years later: Niantic still hasn't done anything noticeable about the cheating problem, and the user base is dwindling even further. But, hey, if playing 80 alt accounts and location spoofing is your idea of a good time, this may be the game for you. The powers that be won't stop you. They don't care.

I have enjoyed the game for years . In the last year the proliferation of new portals (many of which are inaccessible to general public) and the fact that "the machina" seems to me to have gotten out of hand and often has those inaccessible portals, my enjoyment of the game is diminished. Hopefully this will be addressed soon. This post was made 03/25. Niantic does change game play from time to time. In my opinion most of the changes have been for the better .

• Starred Keys: Agents can star Portal Keys and sort Keys by starred. Every Agent can star 3 Portal Keys. Recursed Agents earn +5 additional slots per recursion, up to +25. Active C.O.R.E. subscribers earn +25 slots and +1 slot per month subscribed, up to +50.
