Skred is the first secure peer-to-peer instant messaging app - No need for an email address or phone number to use it.

Skred is free, without subscription, without a provider, without a SIM card, and without leaving a trace.

Skred is developed based on privacy-by-design and leverages the highest levels of authorization encryption. Skred enables an anonymous, unique and secure connection with each of your contacts. Only the two participants in a call can communicate with each other excluding anyone else.
With an interface that is easy to use without impacting the learning experience, Skred enables easy exchange of messages, images, videos, voice calls and video calls.

The SkredBoard, which is accessible by simply swiping down, allows for generating many identities that are separated from each other for absolute confidentiality. You can also use groups to exchange with several friends at once.

When you delete a message on Skred, it also disappears from the mobile phone of your caller.

All exchanges are encrypted from start to finish, from mobile to mobile. They are not stored on any server. The encryption technologies are open source and based on the work of hackers and hacktivists of the Guardian Project.

Skred originated from the Skyrock Group, which in turn came from the free radio movement in France. It defends freedom of expression on the air and on the internet.

Great chat tool , awesome alternative to whatsapp. Missing star because they need to improve the inviting people to the app, it's hard for my elderly parents so it's not good enough to really be successful

The best privacy app out there, from a security perspective. On the user interface level, it is very simple. For example, reactions are limited to only 8 pre-selected emojis (this is no WhatsApp). However, on the bright side, I am glad it doesn't have gifs like WA or TG because gifs can contain all kinds of stuff (Spyware etc). I like that they keep it simple, but being able to react with a wider selection of emojis to avoid misunderstandings, would be the cherry on top.

The idea not to rely on phone numbers or email is excellent, but working with invitations is an outdated approach. If you want to talk with someone, you should be able to do so easily, by using his number but not to invite him and wait for answer over days, weeks or maybe forever. Working with invitations is an old-fashioned method and a closed process. You call a person, and if he knows you, he can add you to his contact list. Otherwise, he can block calling numbers to reduce spams.

You can now search for messages in a conversation based on their content, in addition to contacts.
