Im not sure about older lights, but with the current version of the app, my FS230B Light works absolutely perfectly with this app. It connects quickly, doesn't disconnect, everything is labeled correctly and it includes a lot of cool features like using my phone camera to match the color temp of another source. Very cool, im guessing the old versions weren't great, but the current one rocks.

After a rocky start, the 5.0 update is a respectable improvement from before. However, much of the UI is unlabelled, meaning I have to click around randomly to learn what does what. It must be a hopeless experience for people using accessibility tools. Connecting to a light is still a matter of random chance. If this is a technical problem that can't be overcome, disconnected lights should at least have a "retry" option.

For location permissions, we would like to advise you that the Android system requires location access to open up the Bluetooth. This is to ensure a successful bluetooth connection on your phones. We also require location access, but it's secure to allow this, and solely for the reliable functionality of the app.

Works fine. I got 2 neewer lights for Christmas so I could make YouTube videos, and never really did much with them. I needed a lamp and was going to buy one off Amazon when I remembered I had these sitting in the closet. The app is great. It does everything without requiring you to make an account - you can shut off both lights with 1 click of the "global" power button. It even has built in effects, like party and cop car and candlelight
