About this app

Epicollect5 is a free and easy-to-use mobile data-gathering platform developed by the CGPS Team of Oxford BDI and publicly available at https://five.epicollect.net

It provides both web and mobile applications for the generation of forms (questionnaires) and freely hosted project websites for data collection.

Data are collected (including GPS and media) using multiple devices and all data can be viewed on a central server (via map, tables, and charts).

Data can be exported in CSV and JSON format

The User Guide can be found at https://docs.epicollect.net

This app is exactly what I was looking for! It was easy to build my form and accomplished most of what I need for recording field data. There are two drawbacks: photos cannot be batch downloaded (you have to download each photo one at a time, which is a real time suck), and photo quality saved in the cloud is inferior to what would be saved on my phone. I will continue to use the app, but not record my photos in the data. Highly recommended otherwise!

A nice data collection app. However, the inability to edit existing data on a mobile device makes it unsuitable for our needs. Thanks for the reply. Perhaps I should have been more precise: "It is not possible to edit downloaded remote entries directly and re-upload them". Also, "If you need to edit entries from your mobile device, the only way is to use the web application instead of the mobile app". In areas without network coverage, being able to edit via the website is of no use.

Thanks for your feedback. You can edit entries on any mobile device. See our docs at https://docs.epicollect.net/ or ask for help at https://community.epicollect.net In areas without network coverage, it would not be possible to download the entries in the first place.

Nice work team Epicollect! Creating basic forms was straight forward. I have some suggestions which would rank this app an easy 5 stars from me: 1. Exporting pictures - there must be a easy way to export them in a labelled fashion. Other apps such as fulcrum allow batch export as a zip file (this would put your app well and truly above all other data collecting apps out there); 2. Allow 'hiding' of none essential questions. Thanks in advance for your support.
